Connection
Hayoka Retreats is a space for real connection and learning steps to a peaceful life. Women sit together in a circle sharing stories and parts of themselves. Sharing stories dissolves inner conflict and clears the way for women to move forward.
The retreat focuses on forgiveness, ceremony, personal virtue, intuition, the power of story, honoring cycles, adorning the body, somatic movement and yoga.
As we explore these concepts we will allow nature and the land at Ritmo da Terra Center to hold this space for us.
Why We Tell Our Story?
In the telling of 'parts' of our story we release it, set it free, change it, and help the process of healing it, both physically and mentally, making space for new and cultivating peace.
Some conversations must be said in private. That old expression of 'you can't tell a book by its cover' is true. We walk around the earth, comparing and searching and yet we never know our sister's real story, we never get to tell our real story, we assume and make comparisons leading to our suffering. We let stories stay trapped within, and clouded by this comparison. We search externally for that which is within us, yet that which is within us requires the sharing of stories for it to be understood.
When we dare to speak, even the smallest "untruth" we gain the ability to create a new reality. By hearing the stories of other women we become one, we do not separate and we understand the power of community in women.
